The Blockchain, Fintech, and Cryptocurrency Research Group (BFCRG) at the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) is excited to announce a new international collaboration with Shenzhen Lizhuo New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. This partnership marks a significant step toward applying blockchain technology in the environmental and waste management sectors.
Ts Dr Mohammad Dalvi Esfahani, Lead of BFCRG, has been formally invited to visit Shenzhen Lizhuo’s state-of-the-art facilities in Shenzhen and Beijing, China, from July 15th to July 23rd, 2024. The visit will initiate the group’s collaborative project titled:
“Lizhuo Blockchain-based Waste Management System.”
This project aims to explore and co-develop blockchain-powered solutions that enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in industrial waste management processes—aligning with global efforts to support circular economy models and sustainability goals.
The visit will include:
- Guided tours of Lizhuo’s operational plants in Shenzhen and Beijing
- Technical discussions to assess blockchain integration opportunities
- Strategic planning for long-term research and deployment
All travel and accommodation expenses, including those of accompanying family members, will be fully sponsored by Shenzhen Lizhuo New Materials Co., demonstrating the company’s strong commitment to this collaboration.
This initiative strengthens BFCRG’s role in international university–industry engagement and reinforces the group’s focus on real-world blockchain applications in sustainability, particularly in sectors requiring improved waste traceability and ESG compliance.
