Exciting News: BFCRG Initiates Collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB)

On 7th April 2025, the Blockchain, Fintech, and Cryptocurrency Research Group (BFCRG) at the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) held a productive introductory online meeting with representatives from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). This pivotal session brought together 21 participants from UoSM, MPOB, and UTAR University, marking a significant step toward fostering stronger academic and research ties between these institutions.

The meeting served as an excellent platform for mutual introductions, during which participants outlined their shared research interests and began exploring potential areas for collaboration. The engaging discussion revealed numerous opportunities for future joint initiatives, particularly at the intersection of blockchain, fintech, and sustainable practices.

A major highlight of the session was the official invitation extended to MPOB members to visit UoSM, paving the way for deeper engagement and collaboration. Both parties also agreed to formalize their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This upcoming agreement will serve as a foundation for interdisciplinary research efforts and is expected to lead to impactful projects that contribute to both technological advancements and sustainability in the industry.
